i know, i know. no one likes them, but they have to be followed, so you're going to have to deal with that. you won't be able to make your application without it and what you're going to have to do is make sure you follow them because you only get one strike after that you're out. no warnings, no passes, you're banned immediately for one week. if the problem - whatever it may be - continues, then you will be permanently banned and your character will be put up as a canon.
[ 1 ] respect is always the number one rule on any RPG and respect is something that will also be given here. try not to use any swear words out of character seeing as it may be directed at someone, or someone may take it in the wrong way and then that just messes everything up, confusing the admins and angering the member who swore and... well, drama is good for the RP, but not for RL. also, respect the fact that this RPG is set in the school year 2022. Therefor it is James Potter's graduating year.
[ 2 ] mature subject matter and sexual scenes are prohibited. this follows the Proboards TOS. if we, here at TLC, see any subject matter that is above PG-13, we will have to take action in removing your thread. if there is to be insinuation of sexual matter, please use a fade to black scene.
[ 3 ] graphics are obviously going to have to have limits. no banner over the size of 600x300 since even that is stretching it. we don't want to have to scroll down a whole huge image of your character just to get to the next post. that's just a pain and no one likes that. icons are naturally 100x100 and 65x65 images aren't exactly the nicest things to look at, so please make sure you have them at 100x100.
[ 4 ] posts should be at least 200 words long, we don't feel like 200 words is asking much so please try to meet it. We do understand that everyone has their off days but just don't constantly not meet the word count. there is a word count below the "post message // preview // spell check // reset" buttons so you can check and add. try not to make it include codes since that's kind of annoying sometimes too.
[ 5 ] your application must be thorough and done well and exceeding all expectations. when you're accepted, it will be like you're taking your O.W.L's. so, we've got your T for troll, D for dreadful, P for poor, A for acceptable, E for exceeds expectations, and O for outstanding. if you have either acceptable or exceeds expectations then there could be some improvement to one area and it will be specified. if you get troll, then you are basically denied and have to re-do it entirely if you can. the FORMAT for the title of your application thread is LAST, FIRST MIDDLE
[ 6 ] we have specific rules for the spells learned here at the legacy continues. They are as follows
6.1 the only characters that are allowed to use spells above their level of magic are major canon characters, and with special excception some made-ups. you will need to pm an admin to ask permission.
6.2 the unforgivable curses are not to be used at hogwarts! no ifs ands or buts.
6.3 all years have different spells that they learn. if you are not in the said year, you may NOT use that spell against another memer's character.

[ 7 ] apparating and disapparating are banned in hogwarts; in fact, even if you tried your hardest for it to work, it wouldn't. you'd probably just cause a lot a strain on yourself. first and second years cannot take part on the isits to hogsmeade unless given permission by the headmaster himself. dont forget that the code phrase is rumbleroar! everybody should be at their dormitories by nine o clock pm. anybody who is found, either by a prefect or by a professor, will be instantly placed in a detention without further argument. yes, this does in fact mean that
prefects, the head boy and our head girl can give other students detentions.
[ 8 ] there's no chatspeak tolerated unless you're in the chatbox. even then, only minor chatspeak such as brb and lol is accepted.
[ 9 ] okay, so no powerplaying or godmoding
unless you've plotted out a roleplay with somebody, and you have the other roleplayers permission. you can powerplay and godmode to your hearts content, then.
[ 10 ] right so if you plan to kill off your character please get it checked up with an admin as we don't want mass suicides here at hogwarts.
[ 11 ] if you are starting up a roleplay with a specific character, make sure that everybody knows its for a specific character, so nobody else posts. if you do see a board made for a specific character, you should respect that and not post there.
